The city is littered with crime. There are murders laced with intrigue and betrayal. Innocent people are the victims of brutality, maliciousness and deceit. There crimes that become almost impossible to solve. Through it all, one investigator will struggle to uncover the truth at all cost.
Part of this series presents the brutal double murder of an elderly couple. When their family comes to claim the inheritance, one young man is framed for the crime. His own family has weaved a web of circumstantial evidence that will put Mateo in prison. When he is given a life sentence, the pain and injustice of it all nearly drives him to insanity.
But one man will help him: the intuitive investigator who believes in his innocence. Mateo becomes a fugitive, and the investigator unwittingly becomes his accomplice. For as long as he can't catch Mateo, he will try to help uncover the truth, all in the name of justice.
In part two of the series, the investigator is again faced with a very difficult case. This time, he is caught in the middle. As the story begins, he is following the trail of an elusive serial killer. The case becomes more complicated with each victim, and as he closes in on the identity of the murderer, he will uncover and unspeakable truth. Sometimes, those closest to you are the ones you least suspect.
