SCHIMANSKI

Horst Schimanski (Gotz George) is back! The most popular inspector of the "Tatort" (Scene of the Crime) series returns in nine hard-hitting, stand-alone 90-minute police thrillers. Several years have elapsed since "Schimmi" handed in his revolver and said goodbye to his faithful friend and partner Thanner. Although he's now living in Belgium, where he trains amateur boxers, Schimanski hasn't been forgotten. So when things get particularly hot on Schimmi's old turf, State Prosecutor Bonner puts out her feelers to see if she can lure him back, even if only in a semi-official status. What clinches it is when Schimmi hears that Thanner was killed in a gang war and that his daughter now fears for her life. Once this case has been solved, Schimmi isn't about to be let off the hook so easily. And so he soon finds himself involved in a number of other do-or-die adventures:
escorting a big-time drug dealer from Belgium to Germany, getting ambus-hed and having to flee with the criminal... Trailing a couple of former col-leagues when they make a nearly fatal blunder in a simple surveillance operation... Investigating the death of a young German mercenary in Croatia... Penetrating the Albanian mafia to clear up several murders of street children.... No matter what, no matter where - Schimanski is there when the going is tough.
